Opera Seabrook's Mission

Mission

Opera Seabrook is a 501c3 non-profit organization which has the mission: "To train, support, educate and entertain" providing a professional stage for talented artists performing their first major roles. At the same time, Opera Seabrook supports other organizations’ noble causes by putting our operatic talent to very good use at their fundraisers and other charity events.

Opera Seabrook produces four fully-staged and costumed operas per season. Also, we provide the follow programs:

  • Professional Orientation Program (POP): Apprenticeship & Assistantship training for Youth in all areas and aspects of opera production.
  • Opera on Site:  Outreach program where concerts and opera productions are performed in different retirement centers and other community venues.
  • Concert by Design: A talented group of opera singers, pianists, conductors and directors associated with Opera Seabrook who offer the most exquisite music programs where the repertoire is chosen to satisfy the appetite of any music lover.  Concerts by Design provides an elegant, delicious and fun entertainment event for your parties, conventions, banquets, and any occasion where you would like to offer something different, extremely professional, and highly unique.
  • Artists with International Promise: This is a scholarship program that offers the opportunity for artists to receive vocal, diction & style, musical, and dramatic training for current and future performance opportunities. Artists will be covering and performing major and secondary roles as well as being involved with many other aspects of production during Opera Seabrook’s performing season.

Opera Seabrook received its name for the purpose of ‘The Mission’ which represents the reputation of the ‘Seabrook’ name. During World War II, Japanese families who were separated by the circumstances of Pearl Harbor, were brought together again and allowed to earn a living thanks to the “Seabrook Farm”. Robert McFarland, international Dramatic Baritone & Pattricia Stella Patino, international Coloratura Soprano, chose the ‘Seabrook’ name in order to emulate ‘The Mission’ established by the purpose of Opera Seabrook.
